Jane Langof | Self-esteem | Feng Shui corporate fantasy

This isn't usually what happens in job interviews … but Jane achieved her ultimate corporate fantasy.

I am a Feng Shui consultant and designer. I help people improve their happiness and wellbeing with Feng Shui and great design. I live in Sydney, NSW and enhance the energy in properties, homes and businesses.

I am 35 years old and come from a Slovene and Filipino background. Although my extended families are polar opposites both physically and geographically, we all share a common passion – the love of food!

I studied commerce at the University of NSW and started my career as an accountant. I never felt that accounting was the right career path for me, however I persevered and eventually reached a senior position in my field.

In 1997 I was interviewed for a role with a great company. I found the interviewer (my prospective boss) to be rather lovely. I didn’t get the job, but I married the man, and I consider this to be my greatest career achievement.

I became pregnant with my first child, and realised my ultimate corporate fantasy – voluntary redundancy.

After my baby was born, a friend suggested that I visit her clairvoyant. I went along just for fun, and her advice changed my life.

The clairvoyant told me that my path was to be an artist and that I should learn Feng Shui and interior design. I liked the idea and decided to give it a try. From the moment I studied Feng Shui and design I knew it would become my passion and my business.

What has helped me build my confidence is working out of my comfort zone. The more challenges I overcome, the more I realize that I am capable of achieving greater things.

I stay confident by creating my universe with positive thoughts, affirmative actions and Feng Shui. I try to focus on being the best that I can be, rather than comparing myself to others.

It’s good to be confident because life is more fun when you believe in yourself!

So many of us choose our first career for all sorts of wrong reasons, it is so good to hear you have the self-confidence to take a major leap in a different direction and find what you are really meant to be doing. Your website is fabulous.
